Our Story // Phase Two was formed in the midst of the 2020 global pandemic; a pivotal moment that caused us all to reconsider our motivations and aspirations. Our optimistic nature led us to believe that adversity is a prelude to opportunity and potential positive change. With our design and commercial experience fused with passion, we believe we are well positioned to help make positive change happen and want to focus on progressing to the next phase.

LEWIS FREEMAN
 
Lewis is an award-winning British designer, co-founder and Director of Phase Two and Vibrant Studio. He is highly experienced at delivering challenging and innovative new products. He has collaborated with global brands such as British Airways, McLaren, Dell, BP, Disney and Gunnebo to deliver market-leading products.

For over 15 years Lewis has designed and engineered products from insight to mass production, always championing a strategic design-led approach to enrich the user experience, stimulate innovation and create desire. He is passionate about sustainability, believing this is a crucial element to be carefully considered when developing any new product.

Lewis’s entrepreneurial spirit and experience of working with a wide variety of businesses from start-ups to global brands, gives him the ability to work alongside clients to create successful products that perform on all levels.

MATTHEW HALL
 
Mat is a highly creative, strategic and commercially aware individual who has a passion for bringing new brands and innovative products to market. With over twenty years’ worth of leading design consultancy experience, Mat has helped create market leading products and experiences across a number of diverse sectors, collaborating with global brands, start-ups and inventors to maximise their opportunity through strategic design.

Mat specialises in the early stages of opportunity development, focusing on what is important and linking clear brand, business and product aspirations. With a passion for sketching and visualisation, Mat can rapidly take ideas and make them real allowing projects to progress efficiently, all fused with the experience that helps avoid risk and drive desire.

Mat has collaborated with a wide variety of brands, helping them bring innovative new solutions to market, including: Hasbro, John Lewis, Puttshack, PayPal, British Airways, Crayola and Miura Systems.

As part of our positive impact values we will be operating a “send and mend” service for local infant schools.

Using our hands-on skills, we will fix broken equipment helping schools avoid unnecessary expenditure whilst prolonging the life span of the equipment.

This is the first of a number of positive impact initiatives we plan to offer. Our clients will play a big part in enabling us to do this.
